Are these soy candles defective?
1. Seemingly dry, chalky, or "frosty" surface
2. Shiny, glossy, almost greasy-looking surface
3. Pitted, rough surface after burning and re-solidifying
4."Sink holes" and "craters", often near the wick
5. "Wet spots" along container sides
None of these are defects, nor will these cosmetic imperfections affect the performance of your soy candle. These are just natural characteristics of soy wax.
Depending on the compostion and ratio of the fragrance/essential oils to the wax, and the conditions and temperatures said mixtures are poured in, you're likely to observe one or more of the above cosmetic imperfections. They're no indication that your soy candle is defective. It's just the nature of the animal! (Or all natural, vegan soy!)
